On my way to work that morning I decided to go by the YMCA to visit a friend of mine. While there, someone came in and told us that a plane had hit the World Trade Center. At that point everyone thought it was a horrible accident. When I got to work a bit later it was becoming pretty clear this was not an accident, but an attack on our country. I stayed at the office for a little while then went home. The rest of the day I sat in front of the TV just wondering what in the world was going on--so afraid for our country and so very sad for the victims.
This song still gives me the chills when I listen to it:
Where Were You When the World Stopped Turning by Alan Jackson
